Objective of the Programme

Enterprise and Innovation Programme (branded as “PEAK”) is funded by UK aid from the UK Government works to promote a stronger, diversified and more inclusive private sector in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and aims to stimulate the development of startups and MSMEs, increase business innovation and promote entrepreneurial support to local youth, women, migrants and other disadvantaged groups to enable them to build life-changing ventures.

PEAK establishes business innovation centres (or BICs) that provide business support programmes virtually or onsite, and guide starting entrepreneurs and growing businesses on formulating a business solution to a problem, and develop their knowledge and skills in product development, business strategy modelling, marketing, financial planning and raising finance from investors and funders. The programmes are delivered through interactive trainings and one-to-one coaching.

PEAK has developed a network and strengthened the capacity of business advisory service providers (BASPs) to provide quality and competitive business diagnostic and advisory services that are market-driven and supportive of business innovation and growth. It is also building a network of business mentors to provide business advice and professional services to startups/MSMEs (onsite at PEAK BICs or remotely). PEAK’s business support programmes also count on international business experts and mentors from the United Kingdom and other countries.

Programme Assistant’s general tasks and responsibilities:

  • Translate documents as requested by team (English, Russian, Kyrgyz);
  • Provide assistance/support to the technical team
  • Participate and assist/organize internal and external meetings/workshops or other programme activities and assist in documenting these;
  • Provide the assistance and support in business support activities, such as pre/acceleration programmes, mentorship programmes, assessment and evaluations
  • Data collection and analysis/evaluation
  • Assistance in developing promo and comms materials, invitation/arranging reminder calls for outreach event participants and assistance in arranging logistics of outreach events
  • Assists with preparation of programme documentation (ToRs, requests, specifications etc.);
  • Draft Programme meetings minutes;
  • Greeting visitors and providing them general support (arranging coffee and tea etc.);
  • Make photocopies and scans of documents as needed;
  • Provide other support and assistance to EIP staff as requested by management.

Overall Requirements

  • BA or equivalent in management, business administration, economics or other similar area;
  • Deep understanding and proven experience in planning, organizing and hosting of various events (trainings, seminars, workshops, webinars, etc.);
  • Proven 2 – 3 years’ experience in comparable positions;
  • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures;
  • Good working knowledge of IT technologies (MS Office, phone, fax, email, SMM tools, the internet);
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task;
  • Commitment/engagement;
  • Proactive/initiative team player and cooperation skills;
  • Intercultural competence;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Russian, English and Kyrgyz as an asset.

Duty station: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan with possible business trips within Kyrgyzstan and to Tajikistan.

Assignment Duration: This is a long-term position (May 2022 to April 2023). However, employment contract, which is subject to passing the probation period successfully, will be signed for one year upon positive performance.

Start Date: May 2022
